Mr. Blakeney began B&B Electrical in 1982 after graduating college and obtaining his Master Electrical Contractor's License. He started as a small business owner providing residential electrical service. After establishing the company, he ventured into the commercial and industrial market, and also began working with various municipalities and counties to install and maintain their ball field lighting. B&B Electrical Contractors became incorporated in 1985.
In 1994, Mr. Blakeney began exploring the electrical utility industry. B&B Utility Contractors, Inc., the sister company to B&B Electrical, was the product of that expansion. BBU, which was incorporated in 1995, provides overhead and underground power distribution, lighting, design/build contracts, and traffic signalization construction. BBU also provides airfield lighting which includes taxiway, runway, approach, and beacon tower maintenance and installations.
In 2002, Mr. Blakeney incorporated the sister companies, B&B Electrical and B&B Utility, into one company name, B&B Electrical & Utility Contractors, Inc.
Mr. Blakeney is a member of the Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors (MABC), Electrical Council Board of the MABC, Association of General Contractors (AGC), and the North Mississippi Home Builders Association (NMHBA). He has attended the General Electric Institute for "Outdoor Lighting Design School" and the "Lamp and Lighting School."
Mr. Aldy began his career with B&B in June 2002. He is in charge of supervising and managing all commercial building and industrial projects. He is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling crews, material, and equipment for all commercial/industrial projects from ground breaking to completion.
Mr. Aldy is a Master Electrician. He began his career in the electrical field in 1977. He has attended numerous PLC automation and programming schools, holding certificates for those training classes. He is an experienced electrical control electrician and automation specialist. He was a field supervisor and automation technician prior to managing and running his own automation company.
Mr. Waggoner began working with B & B in 1999 installing sports and street lighting and worked on small commercial projects. He also gained experience working on high mast lighting. In 2006 he became the Traffic Signal Field Superintendent Assistant which involved working on traffic signals. In 2010 Mr. Waggoner became the Traffic Signal Project Manager for B&B.
In May of 2011 he assumed the position of Department Manager for the Traffic Signal Division. His responsibilities include bidding for jobs, coordinating projects, material procurement, and working to keep jobs on time and within budget.
Mr. Waggoner has an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology from ECCC. He has a Level 1 Traffic Signal tech certificate from Temple. He is IMSA certified as a work zone safety specialist.
Mr. Britt joined B&B in June of 2004. He is responsible for bidding, project coordination, and material procurement. He began working in the substation field in 1996. Prior to this he worked residential and commercial construction from 1986 until 1996. He has an Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology from Copiah Lincoln Community College. He is certified in Entergy's Safety and Substation Awareness Programs.
Mr. Gerald began working with B&B in 2005 as a General Foreman. He is now responsible for bidding, scheduling, and crew management for Overhead Construction and Storm Restoration.
Mr. Gerald began working in power line construction in 1986 as a ground man for Tom C. Lofton Contractors. He worked through the ranks to Foreman, Fleet Manager, and then General Foreman. Mr. Gerald was also owner and operator of Utility Construction Services, Inc. from 1995 to 2005.
Mr. Sullivan began working with B&B in September of 1988 as an electrician. He later took a position with B&B as the Street Light Maintenance Superintendent working to maintain street lights in central and north Mississippi for a major investor-owned utility. He was also responsible for maintaining and scheduleing outdoor lighting service at various locations in the Jackson area.
Mr. Sullivan recently took the position of Safety Coordinator with B&B. He administers and directs the company's safety program ensuring compliance with current OSHA regulations. He assesses and solves problems associated with construction and safety matters.
Mr. Sullivan began his career in the electrical industry in 1978. He is a Licensed Journeyman Electrician and has an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology. He gained much experience in traffic signal operations while working for the City of Laurel, and later gained valuable experience from attending school for controls, starters, and relays. He is also a certified neon repairman.
Mr. Henry began employment with B&B in June 2006 as the Operations Director for the Coast office in Saucier, MS. He was in charge of managing and coordinating the operation all Gulf Coast operations.
Mr. Henry took the position as Director of Operations for the the main Brandon, MS location in December 2010. He is in charge of managing and coordinating all operations.
Mr. Henry began his electrical career in 1986 after receiving an Associates Degree in Electrical from East Mississippi Junior College. He completed the ABC Apprenticeship program and is a Master Electrician. He worked as a Project Manager and Construction Manager on numerous large Industrial and Commercial projects prior to joining B&B.
Mr. Warnock began employment with B&B in September 1992. He is responsible for all financial matters and supervising a staff to maintain the daily accounting activities of the company.
Mr. Warnock began his business career in 1972 after graduation from Draughon's Business college where he received a degree in Jr. Accounting and Data Processing. He served as a company officer handling the supervision of employees in accounting and daily operations, including payroll, job costs, equipment costs, and writing and maintaining computer programs.
Mr. Devine has been employed with B&B since 2001. He assists in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. He handles the accounts receivables by creating custom invoices for various customers that are tailored to their specific needs along with a variety of spreadsheets that are used throughout the company. He assists with the compiling of financial statements each quarter and year-end. He also handles various IT support, which includes but not limited to keeping computers up to date, software management, and technical issues.
Mr. Irby began working for B&B in August 1986 as a Licensed Electrician. He advanced with the company in various supervisory roles and currently acts as the Electrical Manager. He is responsible for estimating and bidding projects for residential, commercial, industrial, and sports lighting jobs. He is also responsible for coordinating and monitoring schedules, submittals, and progress of all electrical jobs.
Mr. Irby studied electrical trades at Scott County Vo-Tech prior to earning an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology from Hinds Community College.
Mr. Salers joined B&B in 2000 as the Fleet Manager. He is responsible for equipment and truck maintenance, equipment and vehicle purchasing, routine maintenance, and repairs keeping 150+ trucks, equipment, and trailers in operation.
Mr. Salers has 12 years of automotive management experience working as a Service Manager. He has a Bachelor Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Mr. Fly began with B&B in July 1996 as the Underground Superintendent and directs all underground distribution crew activities. He is responsible for planning, estimating, and scheduling all construction of underground facilities, as well as re-cabling and trouble shooting power outages.
Mr. Fly began working in the Electrical Industry in 1968 as a groundman with Entergy. He worked as an equipment operator and later moved into a supervisory position responsible for underground power distribution. He has a Civil Technician Degree from Northwest Junior College.
Mr. Gardner began working as a service technician with B&B in 1985. Mr. Gardner currently acts as an Electrical Project Manager and is responsible for scheduling the directional boring equipment and crews. He is also responsible for estimating and bidding commercial, industrial, sports lighting, and roadway lighting projects.
Mr. Gardner began his career in the electrical field in 1985 after college graduation. He is a Master Electrician and also has over 10 years experience in the building construction field. He has an Associates Degree in Electrical Technology from East Central College.
